Abdulalim Youns and Jamal Aghbash, from OEC started a new phase of the field study to install another 5 monitoring stations. This phase includes Agdabya, Abozrreg, Gatron, Jofra and Derna. These monitoring stations are to measure the asphalt temperature and other envronmental data as air temperature, solar radiation and wind speed. This field work is a crusial part of the comprehensive research study that will lead to the determination of the proper PG asphalt binder for Libyan pavements. More details will be posted soon.

Update of PG study
Testing the stationsOn the 10th of Feb 2009 the 1st follow up report was submitted to the Road & Bridge Department. The report presents the current condition of the study. The report contains information about the instruments and equipments imported for the field study. It also reports the progress of construction and installation of the monitoring stations in different parts of the country. The report shows a sample of the results recorded by number of stations that entered the service by the date of the report.
